FORMULA I 45 degree Offset *

Suitable for blind holes in manual center bars.

*Requires 45 degree offset toolholder & offset lapping fixture.

Lapping the 45 degree Offset Tool

The number 1, 2, and 3 faces are lapped with the larger sivel fixture assembly used for standard boring tools. The number 4 face must be lapped with special fixture 062-0540-26

1. Install tool bit holder in position 1, lap until face is smooth.

2. Shift swivel feature to position marked 3F, lap until smooth.

3. Shift swivel feature to position 2, lap to desired width.

4. Remove tool holder from large fixture, install in offset fixture 062-0540-26.

Note: When install holder in this fixture, tool bit set screws must be on same side as thumb screw.

5. Lap this face until all material buildup is removed.

Note: Number 2 face should be .010 to .015 wide for gray cast iron, and .020 to .040 for hard alloy blocks.
