Kwik-Way carbide pilots minimize deflection. Tests show that tool steel used in manufacturing most pilots deflect up to five times further when subjected to the same force as carbide. Steel pilots wear, causing increased runout with age. Carbide pilots are highly resistant to wear, maintaining accuracy much longer. This means a more stable rotational center for cutting seats, less runout and greater repeatability.

These pilots / arbors can be used with any brand of seat and guide machine. They are used for maintaining the center when cutting seats, they fit down inside the valve guide opening.
