We have an 092 honing machine that runs on air and micro switches. It had given us issues with over running the m,icro switches. We contacted Kiwk Way and  they had a kit that converted it to micro processor ( I think) . We bought the kit. It was around $2000. Never installed it.

Our local Kwik Way rep, in So Cal at the time said he knew a guy in Corona Ca. that had done a number of these conversions, and would do ours for a reasonable price.

Well, we werte too busy to do it at the time. Now I am thinking I would like to have it installed, but it turns out this rep ( Bob something ) is retired, and no one has any contact info. So I can not find out who the guy in Corona, Ca. is.

So.... Does anyone have an 092 honing machine that they did the conversion?    Does any of you So. Cal guys know how to contact Bob, or who the guy in Corona might be?

Thanks

Jay Eshbach

Jay

Yes Jay, it's unfortunate, but it would seem that Honing is fast becoming like kabuki theater, a dying entity.  I presume that most people still doing honing are not yet very interested in using The Internet and those that do use The Internet either have not found us or don't do Honing any more.

The good news is, if we can just get a few more posts in here that talk about Honing and the machines or processes that are involved with Honing that will make this area more easily found by the few who are probably desperately looking for just such a place on The Internet.

So if anyone out there who happens to read this knows of a place that does Honing operations tell them they should get online at the Kwik-Way Honing Forum...  Help spread the word out there. !!!  It's free and if enough people get involved it's actually beneficial.

All cylinders including nikisel plated still get honed.
