I have an old kwik Way valve grinder, It looks like the one in the brochure in the history page on the website.  Does any one know how the wheel dressing works. I think that I'm missing something and the dressing bit. Is there a manual for this machine?

Thanks....Bob

If it's like what I'm thinking, its an SV model.  There is a diamond tipped screw that is attached to a shaft in front of the stone.

To use the dresser, extend the shaft until the dresser is at least even with the edge of the stone closest to the chuck and relatively close to the cutting edge of the stone.  Tighten the thumbscrew to hold the dresser arm in place.  While operating the traveling arm of the grinding stone, slowly turn the dressing screw into the stone until it barely touches.  Touch up the surface by moving the travel arm back and forth until you have a new, clean surface.  That's it...
