I have a F model boring bar that needs replaced. My local electic motor repair shop wants over 1000.oo to repair mine. looking for a good used one. Thanks for any help.

A new one is about$250.00 is yours the general electric motor?? Baldor make a similar one that I put in mine.

pro power yes my moter is a G.E.  Did you have to make alot of mods to it for it to work? Do you know the part number for the Baldor? Any help would be helpful, thanks.

Sorry it tokk so long to get back to you but all I did was call them with the diamentions of the motor and the mounting requirements and they supplied it to the guy doing the repair.

Just checked today and a motor from a washing machine mounts the same way and the RPM is right on as well. The machine I check was a Kennmore washer. Seems to me that the age of the bar required using excisting components rather then special ordering from a manufacture and the fact that they did not sell 50,000 units a month to me would say they used a motor from a different application.Hope it helps your search
