using the [044 Seat & guide mach] can see good ring around valve face & valve seat B U T , when we hookup the vacuum tester{came with the KWIK-WAY 044 Seat & Guide mach. a lot of the time can't get vacuum tester to pull anywhere near what it should{normally should see 15 on vacuum tester}
we make sure that all of the Holes are Pluged up{?} B U T , still no 15 on vacuum tester , take valve out of valve seat , make sure that the valve & valve seat , both had a VERY CLEAR & consistent Sealing Ring & the did ! Why do we have this type
of problem , when every thng we are doing is by the book BUT , still can't get  the vacuum tester to verify that the valve/seat are
sealing Correctly , not making any sense We know that the vavle & seat have been ground correctly BUT , can't verify , WHY?Huh
THANK U for any H E L P

have for sale: a K-W FL bar and EBF roll over fixture. Has Many main shoes. Was always used in a HP  shop. I am 2nd owner. Was tuned-up by The late Mr. Lacy Williams in the late 90s, just before his death. Has bored about 50 blocks since. Has the std tool kit and bar is Air Float. EBF was scraped and aligned @ same time locally. Has all risers as furnished. Also have a K-W 860 that was rebuilt by Lacy Williams Co. before purchase in approx 1990. Was HP use only. approx 250 blocks and 125 pr of heads total done on machine. Bought and installed a Jamison CBN conversion kit about 4 yrs ago. Still have a usable wheel and ALL the items to make it a wet grinder again. Will hold +/- .001 or less on a BBC length block or head. I need to sell both of these @ the same time. So if you need one or the other you may get together for the purchase. I will work with both parties or one if they need or want both.The combined price on both pcs is 7,500.00 loaded on your open trailer. Can be shipped-will need to discuss compensation. I have a break-down of what I think each pc is worth and will be willing to discuss with both parties if it turns out that is how they will go. My name is Al Schultz and my # is 1-440-714-2606/ no voice mail. I am in northern Ohio between Cleve and Toledo. Please fell free to call if you have a REAL interest. I am a motivated seller. NOT despirate, All is paid for. Thanks for looking.

When I bought my SVS-D valve grinder, I paid the extra to get the '0002" TIR chuck. How can I tell if this is what is on my machine?

As you may or may not be aware, Kwik-Way no longer manufacturers Honing Machines, but we did for many years.   A lot of our honing machines are still out in the field and in use today.  in order to help these loyal customers, we have made several of the old machine manuals available online.  So if you need a manual to an older Kwik-Way Machine you might be able to find it at our Out of Print Manuals Section.

And if you don't find the manual you are looking for, you can send in a request for the one you want and we will dig through our old and dusty filing cabinets to try and find your particular manual.  If we do find it, we will run it through the process to get a copy of it online for you in just a few days.

Here are some of the Honing Manuals that are currently available.

Well now I know why there was no honing forum.

Jay

Yes Jay, it's unfortunate, but it would seem that Honing is fast becoming like kabuki theater, a dying entity.  I presume that most people still doing honing are not yet very interested in using The Internet and those that do use The Internet either have not found us or don't do Honing any more.

The good news is, if we can just get a few more posts in here that talk about Honing and the machines or processes that are involved with Honing that will make this area more easily found by the few who are probably desperately looking for just such a place on The Internet.

So if anyone out there who happens to read this knows of a place that does Honing operations tell them they should get online at the Kwik-Way Honing Forum...  Help spread the word out there. !!!  It's free and if enough people get involved it's actually beneficial.
